We've been exploring the Mi.To's winter testing regime for the past few days, so to wrap up our Arctic adventure, here's a short video to illustrate just what goes in to making one of these winter test sessions happen...
It's a trek of over 3,000km from Alfa HQ in Turin to the winter test base at Arjeplog, and once they arrive there, the Mi.Tos have to be checked over and have winter tyres fitted. A team of mechanics in a nice warm workshop keep everything running smoothly, allowing the test drivers to push to the maximum out on the track, as we see in this and the previous videos. Technical slaloms around cones, high speed dips and bumps, driving on snow and icy tarmac: all of this forms part of the comprehensive cold-weather programme the Mi.To must endure before going on sale to the public.
Fun road trips to the Arctic? Maxing out cars on snow tracks and frozen lake beds? Maybe it's time to pack in the blogging business and apply for a job as an Alfa test driver! ;-) As fun as it's been, it's time to leave the snow behind now. Coming up shortly: a look under the bonnet at the beating heart of the Mi.To. Stay tuned...
