The new engine designed and built by FPT, Fiat Powertrain Technologies, is finally ready for release on the market. The first “open door” is scheduled for September, but we can already reveal the first vehicle to benefit from this jewel: the Alfa Romeo MiTo!

The sportiest compact ever has been chosen as the MultiAir project 'pilot' vehicle and only further attests to our great expectations in its potential.

This truly revolutionary technology in the field of engines is the result of years of study and experimentation. The journey has been long and hard with plenty of difficulties along the way, but the result is a truly great technical success.

AlfaMiToBlog will tell its readers the exclusive story behind what MultiAir really means through 4 videos created in collaboration with FPT and Alfa Romeo. Four chapters to illustrate the history, technology and production of this new jewel of Italian motoring.

Here we are again at the adrenalin-pumping Superbike weekend in Misano.

Although the weather didn’t hold up during the World Circuit 2009, with unseasonal rain and clouds, the races kept everyone enthusiastic and the tension high just the same!

The air was positively electric on the stands and the adrenaline was pumping; track conditions were at their limit forcing riders to change their bikes midway.

Misano and the San Marino Round is one of the SBK classics and some of our readers were lucky enough to see it firsthand.

The general classification came as a great surprise:  in first place, Jakub Smrz, a young Czech rider for the Guandalini team. His Ducati outdid all the greats of the SBK circuit, also conquering pole position.

24 June, 2009 sees the creation of www.alfisti.com , the digital workshop for the most dedicated of fans, the Alfisti,
to create the biggest on-line community in the history of Alfa Romeo.

Subscribers to Club Alfa Romeo, who have come together at the Balocco proving ground for an exclusive event, have aready registered and become part of the community.
